Research & Publications
Distal vs Traditional Radial Access for Coronary Angiography/PCI
A co-authored systematic meta-analysis published in Cardiovasc Revasc Med (2022), evaluating distal versus traditional radial access in coronary angiography and PCI. The study assessed complication rates (bleeding, hematoma, arterial spasm), procedural efficiency, operator learning curve, and patient recovery. Results showed that distal radial access reduced vascular complications, improved comfort, and allowed quicker mobilization after PCI. This work has influenced access-site guidelines and supports safer, evidence-based standards in interventional cardiology.
Additional Works
Dr. Laghari has also contributed to collaborative research on outcomes and epidemiology in cardiology. His published work includes studies on hypertensive heart disease, highlighting its rising prevalence, morbidity, and mortality impact. These findings emphasize the need for early detection, risk stratification, and preventive cardiology approaches such as blood pressure control, diabetes prevention, and lifestyle modification. Collectively, his additional publications reflect a balance of clinical innovation and public health focus, supporting long-term strategies to reduce cardiovascular disease burden.
